Have fun again
I want you to have fun

Lyrics from ‘Have Fun (Again)’
By Diana Ross

I am having fun and creating impact, a most compelling combination. That is what I want for you and everyone else. It represents the recipe for living and leading with fewer regrets.

To me, having fun and experiencing joy is vital to happiness and well-being. However, only having fun lacks substance and import.

Focusing on making a difference without enjoyment will burn you out and leave you less likely to enroll others in your cause.

Deeply passionate about people, teams, and companies who succeed in authentic ways that align with their purpose and values, I aim to make them better.

I yearn to help improve people’s leadership and create lives, vocations, and companies that matter to them – and have fun getting there.

Thus, I began using a powerful suite of tools essential for authentic leadership. They illuminate and clarify what you cannot understand on your own, in teams, and across organizations.

The instruments help you answer the following questions:

  • How do I relate to others?
  • Why do I interact with people, my environment, and situations the way I do?
  • Together, how do they influence my actions and impact my leadership?

TTI Talent Insights® draws on two separate and powerful tools, TTI Success Insights®, DISC (behavioral styles) and 12 Driving Forces® (motivators), and then ties them together with eye-opening results.

I have worked with DISC tools for decades because of their simplicity and sophistication. They are one of the most widely used assessments in business today, yet I have found nothing that compares to the accuracy and precision of TTI Success Insights® DISC. It is far and away the highest quality form of this science.

Tools like TTI Success Insights® DISC are vital for helping you comprehend your preferred styles of relating to others. It illustrates four primary ways you interact with people and the one or two on which you tend to rely. The four methods are simple and yet, when put together, can create hundreds of combinations.

TTI Success Insights® DISC expands your awareness, enabling you to break the golden rule of treating others how you want to be treated and replace it with a commitment to treating others how they want to be treated.

The insights shift your perspective from a self-focus to an outward focus on others. However, by itself, TTI Success Insights® DISC only tells part of the story.

12 Driving Forces® is the only tool that measures your motivations and their degree of intensity within you. The instrument illuminates what gets you up in the morning and prevents you from appreciating those whose values differ from yours.

Clarifying your drivers in key areas allows you to understand the roles, situations, approaches, and environments in which you thrive and those that will frustrate you and drain your energy.

12 Driving Forces® identifies why people behave as they do, revealing motivations and blind spots along continuums in six fundamental areas.

TTI Success Insights® DISC identifies observable behaviors and 12 Driving Forces® and uncovers what lies below the surface.

TTI Talent Insights® combines the two science light on vital attributes that we often miss or overlook when evaluating whether to take on a new role, change companies, or make a new hire. Even the most thorough examinations and conversations do not uncover them independently.

Most vitally, it helps you appreciate and value differences, which would otherwise reside in your blind spot, outside your level of awareness.

Despite their best efforts, leaders frequently lack an appreciation of the attributes that make for a good fit. Too many times, what seems like a match is not.

That’s because too much focus is placed on technical skills, acquired knowledge, and previous track records. Most frequently, compatibility issues are not related to gaps in these areas. They concern suitability centered around the attunement to a specific role, culture, and motivational drivers.

A lack of appreciation of these factors makes most people unhappy in their jobs. Mismatches reduce engagement, increase turnover, and create unnecessary conflict and disruption. The costs to individuals, teams, and companies resulting from the lack of alignment are staggering.

I find it incredibly gratifying to experience people growing their awareness of themselves and others and understanding why they are triggered in certain circumstances or with specific people. I watch people’s self-leadership expand and see how it raises their performances and improves their contribution.

In teams and organizations, associates gain a fuller appreciation of others. They shift their methods of relating to fit them or the situation, which builds trust and increases the safety required for high-performing teams.

Working with TTI Talent Insights® has been exciting because its implications are so significant. You can add an Emotional Quotient™ (EQ) component to generate an even more complete picture.

Awareness of these traits in yourself concerning others, a team, or an organization proves invaluable, helping you build self-confidence, appreciate others, earn trust, exert influence, and lead.

  1. How would increasing your knowledge of how you and others prefer to interact boost your confidence?
  2. How would clearly understanding how and why you like to engage with others, specific environments, and situations inform your decision-making and leadership?
  3. In what ways would a heightened awareness of yourself and others increase your ability to influence them?
  4. How would fully appreciating and welcoming these attributes facilitate your ability to set yourself and others up for success?
